Making the most out of a custom project

Transforming jewelry from the past into something special for the future is an art we have learned from many years of experience.

A client brought in her mother's ring, which had enough gemstones to make a number of new pieces of jewelry.

We recently blogged about a beautiful ring that was made with four 0.25ct diamonds and now we have completed the second phase of the project, making a beautiful pair of pearl and diamond earrings.

Taking two of the 8.5mm round Akoia cultured pearls and matching them with two .025 ct diamonds, we set them on omega style earrings to create a slight dangle earring that would hang just below the earlobe. This style is something that can be worn everyday as well as for special occasions.

Nothing was wasted in this project, as the gold in the original ring was weighed as scrap and helped pay for the cost of the new jewelry.

Phase 3 of the project will be a necklace using the remaining two diamonds and one pearl. We will start this phase soon and you will see the results in a future blog.
