We love to take on project that combine the past with the future.
A custom made wedding band always gives us the opportunity to help a client create something that represents their commitment to the future. A young lady had a ring from her past that she wanted to use in the creation of her future husband's wedding band. She interviewed many jewelers and we were honored that she picked Richard Dolgin Private Jeweler to work with her on this important project.
After discussions about how to incorporate her 14k yellow gold ring into a white gold band, we decided that we would remove the gemstone from her ring, melt the 14k yellow gold into a gold ingot and run it through a mill to turn it into a gold square wire. This wire was formed to be inlaid into the white gold band. Marsha took a white gold 6mm wedding band and routed out a channel to inlay the 14k yellow gold wire. We added a frosted texture to the white gold and kept the yellow gold high polished to create a distinct appearance. Here is a picture of the band during construction and the finished product.
