Unique Custom Wedding Ring Project

A client recently stopped in that had been contemplating a redo of her wedding ring.

She had done a lot of research investigating pictures, ring designs, the height of settings and considerations of her daily lifestyle to establish her plan for a custom wedding ring. She picked the metal color to be 14k rose gold, like a halo style, wanted a durable design, and wanted to use her original engagement diamond. My client made numerous notes that included all of these factors which made it very straight forward for us to begin the project.

Early ring design ideas

The design included setting our clients diamond in a bezel and using a channel set halo. Both of these setting styles are very durable for daily wear.

We took these ideas and started with a CAD/CAM model to implement the design criteria. This worked out very well and after approval of the CAD file we offered to produce a 3D model for final approval. Providing 3D models is a newer service we are offering with our CAD/CAM projects. The model enables our clients to see all the details of the jewelry and be able to try on the model in our jewelry studio. After the final approval and minor changes to the file we sent the file to be cast in 14k rose gold. After receiving the rough casting Marsha began her magic, cleaning up the casting and doing the pre-polish, before setting the diamonds. We supplied beautiful side diamonds for the mounting.

Here is a gallery of the events leading up to the final product.

After Marsha set all the diamonds the ring was polished and a matte finish was applied to the ring. The ring came out absolutely magnificent and I am proud to say the client was ecstatic about the final product. It makes it easy to do a wonderful custom project when you have a client that delightful. It makes our work fun and to see the joy that this ring brings makes our job exciting.

Here are pictures of the finished ring.
